Justin Bieber Taking Paternity Test As Mariah Yeater Stands By Claim

Justin Bieber's team look set to be trying to ensure 20 year-old Mariah Yeater will be rueing the day she accused the baby-faced pop star of being the father of her three month old child. Bieber will reportedly take a paternity test to prove that he is not the father, and then his lawyers look set to take Yeater to court over an allegation that could - if proven true - tarnish the star's squeaky clean image at the time of his Christmas album 'Under The Mistletoe', which was released last week.

Entertainment site Tmz.com have reported that though Bieber is currently in Europe - he performed last night (November 6th 2011) in Belfast, Northern Ireland at the Mtv Europe Music Awards in a ceremony hosted by girlfriend Selena Gomez - he is deadly serious to take the Dna test upon his return to the Usa to prove he's not the father. The 17 year-old's lawyer Howard Weitzman has apparently contacted Yeater's attorneys to confirm this, and has also selected a lab to undertake the test. If - as Bieber's team are confident - he is found to be in the clear then it's expected that Weitzman will sue Yeater; something that her own legal team are reported to be "nervous" about.

For her part however, Yeater has now come out to The Insider to defend her allegations that he had sex with her backstage at a Los Angeles concert, saying "When we got to what turned out to be a bathroom, his whole demeanor changed, it went from cute and gushy to, just, more aggressive." She reportedly has proof of his fatherhood; that it'd be stronger than a Dna test though is pretty unlikely.

Stereophonics Shocked Name Was Unique

Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones was very surprised that no other bands had used the name his group chose for themselves.

Stereophonics couldn't believe their bandname hadn't been used before.

The 'Dakota' hitmakers took their moniker from an old musical device they found in the house of late drummer Stuart Cable's parents and jokingly claim they would have been called something else if the equipment - a cross between a radio and a gramophone - had been manufactured by another company.

Frontman Kelly Jones explained on Absolute Radio's 'Ronnie Wood Show': "There's an old radiogram in the studio, and that's what we got the band's name from. Stuart's dad used to have an old radiogram in his house and it said Falcon Stereophonic on it, so that's where we nicked the name, just off one of those things there.

"We couldn't believe it hadn't been used actually because it was on all the old jukeboxes and everything, but nobody nicked it, so we were quite chuffed with that, we had that.

"It could have been the Monophonics, or it could have been Murphy."

Kelly also believes the group owe their career to a box of matches after they inspired their 1997 track 'A Thousand Trees' which landed them a record deal after receiving a lot of radio airplay.

He explained: "I nicked it off a box of matches, England Glory. It said on the back 'It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches but one match to burn a thousand trees', so I nicked it and got a record deal."

Justin Bieber will undergo a paternity test when he returns from Europe to prove he is not the father of fan Mariah Yeater's four-month-old son.

Justin Bieber is set to undergo a paternity test in two weeks.

The pop superstar has been accused by Mariah Yeater of being the father of her four-month-old son Tristyn Anthony Markhouse Yeater and she and her legal team have requested he take a DNA test to prove he is the dad.

According to TMZ.com, Bieber's lawyer Howard Weitzman contacted Yeater's attorneys on Friday (04.11.11) to tell them the singer will take the test when he returns from a work trip to Europe and Weitzman has already chosen a laboratory to conduct the test which is agreeable to both parties.

After the paternity test is carried out and comes back negative, Bieber - who was in Belfast, Northern Ireland, yesterday (06.11.11) for the MTV Europe Music Awards - and his lawyer intend to file a lawsuit against Yeater.

Meanwhile, in a TV interview Yeater has claimed she has already "provided evidence" that Bieber is the father of her baby.

During an appearance on 'The Insider', the 20-year-old Californian woman - who claims she got pregnant after a sexual encounter with the 'Never Let You Go' hitmaker after his concert at Los Angeles Staples Center on October 25, 2010 - said: "I've provided evidence to my attorneys. He immediately took a liking me.

"It was kind of me and him with other people, and then he eventually asked me, 'Would you mind if we could go somewhere and be alone?' "When we got to what turned out to be a bathroom, his whole demeanor changed. It went from cute and gushy to more aggressive."

One of John Lennon's rotten teeth has gone under the hammer for £19,500, almost double the asking price.

One of John Lennon's rotten teeth has fetched £19,500 at auction.

Dentist Michael Zuk purchased the late Beatles legend's molar by telephone bid at the Omega Auction House in Stockport, Greater Manchester, on Saturday (05.11.11), and the 49-year-old dental surgeon was "buzzing" after finalising the deal.

He said: "Most people would say I was crazy, but I think it's fantastic."

The "gruesome" tooth went under the hammer for almost double its £10,000 reserve price and it comes with an affidavit signed by John's former housekeeper Dot Jarlett, who he gave the molar to when she worked for him at his Kenwood mansion in Surrey in the 1960s.

Karen Fairweather, owner of Omega Auction House, said: "John Lennon came back from the dentist and gave it to his housekeeper and said to dispose of it 'or better still give it to your daughter as a souvenir'.

"It's rather gruesome, yellowy, browny with a cavity."

Dot has previously sold other items related to the late singer - who was shot dead aged 40 in 1980 - including a jacket he wore on the cover of the Beatles' 1965 'Rubber Soul' album.

Her son Barry Jarlett explained: "John was in the kitchen and he had this tooth which he had wrapped in a piece of paper.

"He said, 'Dot will you dispose of this,' and then he said, 'Or, as your daughter's a Beatles fan, you can give to her as a souvenir.'

"It is something that we felt was very personal and my mum actually gave it to my sister who has kept it safe."

Earlier this year, a lock of pop star Justin Bieber's hair went under the hammer for £25,000, with all the proceeds going to charity, and a jar of Angelina Jolie's breath once sold for £330.

Pixie Lott found it "hard" selecting the songs for her new album because she had grown attached to everything she'd written.

The 20-year-old singer has been working on her second LP 'Young Foolish Happy' - a follow-up to 2009's 'Turn This Up' - since January and has penned over 70 tracks and admits she finds it difficult selecting the songs that make it to the final cut.

She said: "I started writing this album in January of this year and I've only just finished it. I probably wrote about 70 songs for it because I was in the studio every day and I was working really hard.

"It's kind of like a joint effort between me, my management and my label and we all kind of compromise but it's still really hard. I get attached to all of them and most of them people never hear."

Pixie also says there is more mature sound to her second album because she has a lot more life experience.

She told 'BBC Breakfast': "It's just about how you're feeling and songs always come from personal experience and they always come out much better like that.

"The majority of it is a lot more soulful and it's lot more mature. Some of the songs on the first album I wrote when I was 14 and now I'm 20 and I feel like I've just moved on a bit. And my influence has come through more as I grew up listening to soul music."

Radiohead have announced 10 live dates in the US for February and March next year.

Radiohead have announced a string of live dates for 2012.

The band will kick off their first US tour since 2008 in Miami on February 27, just over a year after the release of their last album 'The King of Limbs'.

Support for the 10 concerts will come from Oklahoma rockers Other Lives.

Further American dates, as well as other shows worldwide, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, the group are auctioning off a signed guitar to raise money for a child stricken by an inoperable brain tumour.

Guitarist Ed O'Brien donated the instrument - which was used during the recording of their albums 'Kid A' and 'Amnesiac' and carries the signatures of all five members - to the Billie Butterfly Fund, which is trying to generate funds to pay for four-year-old Billie Brainbridge to receive treatment in Texas that is not available in the UK.

The guitar comes with a handwritten authenticity note from Ed which says: "It was bought in the summer of '98, just prior to us going into record the albums which came out as 'Kid A' and 'Amnesiac'. It was pretty much the only guitar I used at that time. It's also been gigged a lot, up to and including the 'In Rainbows' tour."

A representative for the fund said: "It's an unbelievably generous gesture from Ed, hopefully the guitar will end up with a big Radiohead fan."

Bidding for the guitar is now open on auction site eBay and currently stands at almost £8,000.

Liam Gallagher has promised his band Beady Eye's next album will be ''life-changing'' and will be inspired by George Harrison's seminal solo LP 'All Things Must Pass'.

Beady Eye's second album will "life-changing".

The group are getting ready to start recording the follow-up to 'Different Gear, Still Speeding', and singer Liam Gallagher promises it will be a landmark LP in his career.

Referring to the group's debut, he said: "It wasn't life-changing, but the next album - that'll be life-changing. It'll be a much grander affair too, with strings.

"I'm really into 'All Things Must Pass' by George Harrison at the moment, so I think we'll be going down that road a bit more."

Referring to the famous Wall of Sound producer, he added: "(It will be) a bit Phil Spector-ish. I want it to be big-sounding. But there will be some rock 'n' roll too. You've always got to have a bit of rock 'n' roll."

Liam also doesn't understand how people could dismiss the group - which also includes Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, who were in Liam's old band Oasis at the time of their split - just because it doesn't involve his estranged brother Noel.

He added to The Independent newspaper: "I was surprised that people were surprised [by how good the album was]. The idea that we wouldn't be able to make a decent album between us is stupid. I know what I'm doing, Gem and Andy have been writing great songs for years so they know what they're doing. Why wouldn't it be good?"

Simon Ratcliffe with Felix Buxton

Basement Jaxx star Simon Ratcliffe has revealed he and Felix Buxton have begun work on a new album.`

Basement Jaxx are "refreshed" and "ready" to record their new album.

The 'Bingo Bango' hitmakers released their last LP 'Zephyr' in 2009, and after finishing their last live tour in 2010 the duo took time out to pursue other projects, but have now started preparing tracks for a new record.

Simon Ratcliffe exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I think it's time to get on and do some Basement Jaxx tunes, we both feel quite refreshed and ready for the next phase.

"We've got a few tunes which need finishing and they should result in an album. There is going to be another Basement Jaxx album, definitely."

Simon added the work he and bandmate Felix Buxton have done away from the group and the fact they've worked on soundtracks to two films - 'Attack the Block' and 'The Hooping Life' - have inspired there new tracks.

He said: "I did my solo EP, Felix did a couple of dance tracks and the orchestral thing, it's been good as we've had a break from the pressure of it all, and doing the films was wicked, and throwing ourselves into a world we weren't accustomed to, you come across new sounds, textures, chord sequences - it's all good practice."

Simon also teased that fans will be able to catch a preview of what their new material will sound like, if they go to see them DJ, as they have started dropping tracks into their live sets.

He added: "We've started playing some tunes in our DJ sets, and that's how we always used to do it, when we started the first album we played the songs in our DJ sets and they morphed from there really."

Basement Jaxx are part of the line up who will be performing at the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project at Alexandra Palace on 12th November 2011. To find out more visit www.facebook.com/SmirnoffGB

Florence + the Machine's live performances are "violent and frightening and overwhelming."

Singer Florence Welch, who fronts the musical project, feels like she has been transported to another world when she's touring, where she neglects the "typical boundaries" of everyday life.

She told USA Today newspaper: "I can't wait to get on stage, because there you don't worry about whether you'll ever get married because your life is insane, or whether you'll ever have another boyfriend again, you don't worry about the typical boundaries of how your life has to be.

"On stage, it's violent and frightening and overwhelming, and you're disappearing yet completely present. It's the hallelujah moment. You know what you've been living for."

Florence also admits she is a perfectionist when it comes to recording, and sometimes has "to be taken aside and given a chat" in order to complete tracks, because she puts so much focus into them having as much impact as possible.

She added: "It all comes down to the drums. That layering process is huge for me, the swells of music, the overwhelming feelings they create.

"When something really hits me, it makes me want to either jump off something really high or lie down and be buried. I want people to get hit and caught by my music."

Taio Cruz created his latest single 'Hangover' to honour drinkers who get "completely smashed" in Ibiza.

The 'Higher' hitmaker was inspired to write a track celebrating the party lifestyle after a visit to the Spanish Island - famous for its dance music club scene - and seeing the effects too much alcohol had on people first hand.

He said: "'Hangover' was inspired by me being in Ibiza this year. We had a whole week of going out and it being crazy, even though I didn't actually get drunk myself, but everyone around me was getting completely smashed. I felt like, 'We need to create an anthem for them. That would be fun.'

"I have to be honest: I really don't drink that much. I really don't. Seriously, I don't."

Despite insisting he doesn't like to drink very often, the 28-year-old producer and singer once had a "crazy evening" where two girls jumped on his back while he was serving drinks behind a bar.

He added to MTV: "I have had the odd occasion where it's gotten a bit crazy, and it's always in Ibiza. For me, I think my craziest moment was in Ibiza at a bar with a couple girls on me, piggybacked whilst behind the bar making drinks. I remember that was a bit of a crazy evening."

Gene Simmons' former KISS bandmate Ace Frehley believes the rocker is a ''sex addict'' who is making up for the times when no one wanted to sleep with him.

Gene Simmons has been branded a "sex addict" by his former bandmate.

The KISS rocker - who married longterm girlfriend Shannon Tweed earlier this month - only had sex "once or twice a year" in the early days of the band but slept with "hundreds" of women as he became more successful, Ace Frehley has claimed.

Ace - who gave up drinking alcohol in 2006 - wrote in his new book 'No Regrets: A Rock 'n' Roll Memoir': "I believe Gene is a sex addict, in much the same way I am an alcoholic. If you've been with only one or two women (and had to beg for whatever you got off them), it must be intoxicating to suddenly have groupies falling all over you.

"You go from getting laid once or twice a year to getting laid a hundred times by a hundred different women."

Ace - who performed with KISS from 1973 to 1982 then rejoined in 1996 for six years - believes Gene's promiscuity had a "negative" effect on the band and says the rocker was not selective about who he got intimate with.

He added: "We all have our issues and vices, and I saw Gene's behaviour affect him and the band sometimes in a negative way... He would f**k almost anything. Short, tall, plump, svelte, attractive, merely tolerable."

Veteran crooner Barry Manilow has made good on his promise to donate $300,000 (£185,000)-worth of musical instruments to a high school in Missouri following the devastating tornadoes which flattened a small town earlier this year (11).

The natural disaster swept through Joplin in May (11), killing 162 people and leaving others homeless, and the singer was so touched by the tragedy, he vowed to help restock Joplin High School's music department with new instruments via his non-profit organisation, the Manilow Music Project.

Manilow delivered three truckloads of gifts, including a concert grand piano, to the school last week (27Oct11).

A statement from the crooner reads, "I know first-hand how invaluable music can be to get you through life's tough times. It is an honour and a privilege to help these kids after such a disaster."
